Tsubasa Hara is a Hakuba high school student whose passion for mountain biking has taken her globally as she participates in international championships. She started MTB riding when she was 3 years old and entered her first downhill race at the age of 5. After coming in first place, two boys behind her – she was hooked on the sport.
In the year 2024 alone Tsubasa has been to Australia where she competed in Cranxworks Cairns, France where she raced in UCI Mountain Bike World Series, and has participated in all major Japan National Championship races. Recently in July, she was in Gifu for the Japan National Competition final where she took first place – making her the youngest winner at only 16 years.
Tsubasa’s goal from now is to stand on the winner’s podium in an overseas competition and aims to be Asia’s champion in MTB downhill racing. She hopes that when returning to Hakuba she can share her many experiences abroad, and spread her passion for MTB to others in her school. Tsubasa aspires to make MTB a more popular sport and to see the community grow within Japan.
At HHG we are proud to be sponsoring Tsubasa and wish for her continued success both domestically in Japan and internationally as she competes with some of the worlds best in downhill mountain biking.
