Nakatani Omiya Suwa Shrine Festival takes place every year on the last weekend of August. It includes a pre-festival festival on Friday night with lines of food stalls and a lantern procession. 

As part of the main festival event, there will be Mikoshi (portable shrines) carried by villagers in addition to local folk music performances.
